Breitling has done a great job on their new SuperOcean watch, they have updated it to be more in-tune with the current market.  The watch has …

Orient’s 60th Anniversary Watches – SDT0000

Orient-SDT00001S-Gold-Watch

To celebrate 60 years of watchmaking, Orient has released the SDT0000 series of watches.  The SDT0000 watches are designed based on some of the oldest Orient watches and pay homage to the company with “Orient 60th Anniversary Limited Edition” engraved on the back of the watches.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 44 London Chronograph

Many sports aficionados know Omega is the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games and has been for the past 24 events (summer and winter).  To commemorate the 25th time as the official timekeepers, Omega has released a special watch for the 2012 London Olympic Games called the Seamaster Aqua Terra 44 London Chronograph.

I was expecting something more “grand” or “Olympic-sized” than what looks to be just another Aqua Terra.  The watch does come with the ugly London Olympics logo but at least it’s on the back side of the watch.

Moments In Time Watch Sculptures by Dominic Wilcox

moments in time london riot watch figurineOver the past year I have called quite a few watches “works of art” but the watches created by Dominic Wilcox truly are works of art more than they are wristwatches.  Dominic has created seven unique timepieces using vintage mechanical wristwatches and pocket watches that feature moments in time sculptures featuring hand-crafted miniature figurines.  The seven timepieces are exhibited at the Dezeen Space Gallery until October 16, 2011, called “Moments In Time”.

Each watch comes with a different scene from everyday life including a scene from the recent London riots with a looter stealing an LCD television.  The looter figurine is placed on the second hand which gives him the appearance of running away (at the speed of light time) as a policeman looks on, who’s placed on the minute hand.  Other “moments in time” scenes feature kids playing, a man trying to shake hands, a man sweeping, a flying pig getting away from butchers, a man sitting on a bench, and the last one I don’t really get.

Casio G-Shock Solar Military Green GR7900KG-3 Watch

Casio G-Shock Solar Military Green Watch Collection

In the world of Casio G-Shock watches there are hundreds of colors and models available; giving you thousands of combinations and now Casio is releasing the Military Green Watch Collection.  This collection will consist of three solar powered G-Shock watches: GR7900KG-3CR, G5600KG-3CR, and G6900KG-3CR all finished in matte olive green.

Like all G-Shock watches, the Military Green collection will come with the same bad-ass features that have made these watches so popular.  Some of the features include shock resistance, world timer, water resistance to 200 meters, four alarm settings, stop watch, full auto EL backlight, and of course, rugged looks.

Alpina Worldtimer Watch 1

Alpina Worldtimer Manufacture

It’s very hard to find a (real) Swiss-made world-timer watch that doesn’t cost a 5-figure sum but Alpina has done it with the Alpina Worldtimer Manufacture watch.  The Geneva-based watch manufacturer has priced the Worldtimer Manufacture at $3,450 and uses a movement that’s produced in-house.

The watch dial is fairly clean looking, for a world-timer, with a second, minute, and hour hands.  There is however a quite large sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position for the date which blocks part of the world-timer feature.  The outer-dial has

Lange Grand Lange 1 watches

A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 Lumen Watch

I’m not too familiar with the German watchmaker A. Lange & Sohne; in fact, this is the first article I’m writing about them.  The German watchmaker is known for their high-end watches and from what I gather, most of their watches don’t come with luminescent, making them hard/impossible to read at night.  Their latest watch, the Grand Lange 1 Lumen, does come with that magical glowing stuff, hence the name “Lumen”.

According to my research, the A. Lange & Sohne Grand Lange 1 Lumen watch is not a totally new watch; it takes bits and pieces/ideas from other A. Lange watches.
