Lyons Motor Car LM2 Streamliner: The “Real” American Supercar

The future is here!!! Oh wait, I thought we were back in the 1970’s. The Lyons Motor Car, a US based supercar maker (in spirit), has released images and information on their upcoming supercar called the LM2 Streamliner. The car looks very futuristic, if we were living in the 1970’s.

I guess if you’re tired of seeing your neighbors’ McLaren P1, Porsche 918 Spyder, or the Ferrari LaFerrari, the LM2 Streamliner would be something to set you apart in the crowded “hypercar” market.

I don’t want to piss on someone’s parade, but the Lyons Motors LM2 Steamliner is one hideous car. It looks like something my 8 year old niece would draw. Hideousness aside, how does the engine get air? Unless this car is powered by wishes and dreams, I don’t think it work purely from a mechanical point of view (not that it will ever make it to market for a thousand other reasons).

Speaking of engine, the LM2 Streamliner is said to be powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine with intercoolers, producing 1,700 horsepower!!! More like 1,700 unicorn power ;). Power will be sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed sequential gearbox. According to the “company”, the LM2 is “guaranteed” to reach 60 miles per hour in 2.2 seconds or less and reach a top speed of Mach 10, just kidding, a top speed of 290 mph (467 km/h).

The LM2 Streamliner is also very advanced in the use of materials for the body and chassis, the company will be using a revolutionary material called “carbon fiber” to build the chassis and body. The car will also be so advanced, it won’t need any wiring harnesses, everything controlled by wires on a normal car will be controlled via radio frequencies and you can alter the car’s characteristics with an iPhone!!! I wonder if it’ll be Android and Windows compatible?

I think I’m going to come up with my own supercar, my niece will be on her spring break vacation soon and I’ll get her to “design” me a supercar. It’ll be powered by multiple flux-capacitors and produce 30,000 doggy power and will go 800 mph and get 400 mpg, starting price $9,999,995 US.

I personally think the Lyons Motor Car LM2 Streamliner is an early April’s fool joke, but we’ll see what happens. The company says they will bring a prototype to the New York Auto Show. For more info, visit LMC.
