Necker Nymph – World’s First Underwater Aircraft

World's First Underwater Aircraft

There are very few guys out there that can be considered a finished man. Besides Jonathan Goldsmith, the most interesting man in the world, I would say that Sir Richard Branson comes in at a close second. Branson has pretty much done it all and is one of the richest people in the world. He has spent plenty of money on commercializing space flight, completed ridiculous across the world adventures, and now he is ready to conquer the sea.

His company has designed a catamaran called the Necker Belle which happens to be one of the fastest on the water. The cool thing about the Necker Belle is that it boasts the world’s first underwater aircraft dubbed as the Necker Nymph.  The Necker Nymph is a three-person aero-submarine capable of diving down to a depth of 30 meters to explore the deep without using any human power.

The Necker Nymph is capable of traveling up to speeds of 6 knots under water with each dive lasting one to two hours. The passengers wear normal scuba breathing gear while seated in the aero submarine. Rental fees start at $2,500. For more details, check out Necker Nymph.
