I’m always filled with anxious excitement when a brand new IP is announced. Seeing a brand new game that isn’t a sequel is like meeting a woman for your very first date.
It’s exciting… the date could go fantastically well, with both of you connecting on a level you never thought possible. She could be the type of woman you want to spend the rest of your life with. But things could also go very, very poorly. You could find out that she’s riddled with bugs (yikes), or more benignly, that she’s just the same as all the other women. Yeah, it’s kind of like that, and that’s why I’m so nervous about finally playing Watch Dogs later this year.
Watch Dogs “Honored” Trailer
Since Watch Dogs was announced so many months ago, I’ve been anxiously awaiting its release. Check out this brand new trailer and perhaps you’ll see what I’m talking about here.
So here’s my take on what we just watched. The story sounds interesting, the game is rather beautiful (especially considering that it was designed for current gen), and the gameplay looks like a lot of fun. But as with all things from Ubisoft, I have to wonder if it’s going to be any good. After the letdown that was Assassin’s Creed 3, well… let’s just say that though I’m excited, I’ll be waiting a day or two before I pick this up. I’m more than happy to spend my hard earned dollars on a $60 game, but only if said game is relatively free of bugs. To me, that’s just a basic requirement.
What do you think?
Maybe you’ve only watched this trailer – or perhaps all the other ones that we’ve written about – but either way I want to hear your thoughts in the comments below. Is this going to suffer from the same problems that plagued the first Assassin’s Creed, like, you know… a complete lack of gameplay, or will the team have learned from the failures of the other franchises and done thing differently right off the bat? Let’s talk about it.
Looks wicked!
Let’s hope it plays wicked as well.
