Hitman: Absolution – “Chimera” Fan Film

It’s the beginning of November in the fine year of 2012, and in a few short weeks we’ll finally have a chance to play Hitman: Absolution. Recently, it seems like the most creative minds in the community have come out of the woodwork to pay tribute to IO Interactive’s masterpiece. The ever talented Joe Fidler and Freddiew recently released “Hitman”, a sponsored tribute to the game, and today we have another contender called Chimera, which I assure you is every bit as awesome.

Created by David ‘dwyz’ Wayman, Chimera is a short film about the family life of a certain bald headed killer. I can’t say much more than that without spoiling, so do yourself a favor and go watch it. I absolutely promise you won’t be disappointed with what you see.

I’ve got to say, I’m really impressed with both the amount of style that David managed to inject into this, and just how much story and ambiance he was able to pack into such a short time frame. I did not expect that twist near the end there, not at all. If you haven’t played the previous games in a while, or if you’re not that familiar with the story, then perhaps you’re slightly confused, but I assure you… it was a great nod to the older games, and one that fans of the series like myself really appreciate seeing. It’s the little details that make something good, great.

Speaking of details, if you’re interested in finding out more about how Dwyz and company put together Chimera, then you’re in luck. He filmed a behind the scenes look at the video, complete with cast interviews and other interesting bits of information. All of the actors seem very friendly, and not murder like in the slightest.
