Grand Theft Auto V Trailer – Just Like In The Movies

At long last, Rockstar Games released a trailer for the much anticipated Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar has released very few details about the game, but what I can tell from the trailer, the GTA V centers around a man trying to settle down in a new city and retire from that… you know, that line of work. He wants to kick back, spend time with his kids, and enjoy the nice Californian weather. Yes, it looks like this game is set in California. The city names are obviously fictional, but I have it on good authority that “Vinewood” is probably supposed to represent Hollywood.

The story of a man trying to escape his troubled past is nothing new, but I have a feeling that Rockstar has a few tricks up their sleeve. The game looks beautiful, in the stylized sort of way that Rockstar is known for, and the trailer music is excellent. Really, it’s the entire tone of the trailer that makes me excited to play this. There are many games trailers that portray a game in a way that’s completely unlike the game itself, but I feel that Rockstar is usually pretty good about avoiding that. After having watched the trailers and subsequently played the games for almost all the earlier GTA games, I can’t remember a single instance where I felt like what I saw in the trailer was vastly different from the game itself.

There’s currently no known release date for Grand Theft Auto V, but I have a feeling that we’ll continue to see new media and information over the coming months.
