Concept One Electric Supercar By Rimac Automobili

Two years in the making and the ‘Concept One’ by Rimac Automobili is finally up for grabs for those who can afford the world’s first “electric hyper car”. The Concept One is one of the few production vehicles which surpass the 1,000hp mark with this particular car producing an impressive 1,088 horsepower which is near Bugatti Veyron territory.

The Concept One features ‘All Wheel Torque Vectoring’. With this setup, powertrain of the vehicle is divided into four sub-systems with each system delivering power to one wheel each and working independently from each other. This allows each wheel to accelerate and decelerate independently hundreds of times per second for optimum handling.

The top speed of the Concept One is 190 mph while its 92kWh battery pack helps the car achieve a maximum distance of 370 miles (not at a 190 mph of course). The car offers excellent driving experience for the driver as it has a low center of gravity, a suspension setup on par with any other super car out there, and a ridiculous amount of torque available from zero RPM thanks to the electric motor.

There are only 88 units being produced at a cost of $1 million each and deliveries are expected in the first quarter of 2013.
