The Manly Stroller – Skoda VRS Mega Man-Pram

I’m not a father yet but I am a proud uncle to a niece and a brand spankin’ new nephew. Besides my lack of knowledge in diaper duties, I would say I’m qualified and experienced enough to look after a child. I enjoy taking the kids out in their strollers and going to the park or mall. I’ve never really had issues with strollers before but apparently some people think they are not manly enough. This is where the Skoda VRS Mega Man-Pram comes into play. It’s a more manly take a traditional stroller.

Czech auto-maker, Skoda, developed the ultra-modern VRS Mega Man-Pram which is “slightly” higher than the standard strollers standing at two-meters high. The stroller comes equipped with side view mirrors, a hydraulic suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, high-spec brake calipers compete with brake lights, anti-stress grips, and high-beam headlights for evening strolls.

For the child lucky enough to cruise in the VRS Mega Man-Pram will get to enjoy sports-inspired upholstery as well as adjustable lumbar support. The stroller on steroids was created to celebrate the launch of the third-generation Octavia VRS family car in the United Kingdom.

According to the company, a 1000 British dads were surveyed to find out what men want when it comes to prams. 76 percent responded that they would be more likely to push the child around if the pram was stylish with high-tech features. The top five requested features included a muscular design, large alloy wheels, high-tech brakes, hydraulic suspension, and mirrors. I don’t know how North American dads feel but according to Skoda’s survey, 33 percent of dads are embarrassed to push a pram around while 25 percent refuse to do it at all.

As cool as it looks, Skoda has no plans on bringing this manly stroller to market. It was simply created to appear in their advertising campaign for the new car. I would like to see somebody fit this thing into their vehicle. If this did make it to production, I can also see people putting motors on these things and having their children race them down the street! Now that would be interesting to see.

  1. This is by far the dumbest thing to have ever been put on this website. What makes it so bad is that the author reveres this ridiculous looking thing. There’s gaudy and then there’s just plain fuckin stupid and that thing is fuckin stupid.
