Handimals Series by Guido Daniele

I’m not a fan of guidos but I am a fan of Guido Daniele of Soverato, Italy. Daniele is an award-winning artist who started to experiment with body and hand painting back in 1990. He would have his models position their body into certain positions so he could use his painting techniques to create super realistic portraits and scenes onto a living canvas.

A new element was added to his work by incorporating a human body into his art and he continues to explore the possibilities. My favorite series by him is his world-renowned Handimals series which he started back in 2000. In this series, he uses hands in various positions to paint highly detailed and realistic animals.

The attention to detail really is amazing as you can see in the samples below. There are way too many to share but I’ve picked out some of my favorites. You have to let your imagination run wild to come up with some of the stuff seen here. For more samples of his work, check out his website.
