Single serve coffee machines continue to gain popularity and the Nespresso Lattissima+ still remains the king in my eyes when it comes to these coffee units. Like all modern gadgets, one of the goals of a product is to reduce the size as much as possible without compromising any of its features or abilities to carry out the task it was designed for. Single serve coffee machines are generally intended for home use but not the EspressGo coffee machine. Just like the Handpresso Auto and the Hey Joe Coffee Mug, the EspressGo is for those who enjoy a cup of espresso/coffee on the go.
But unlike the Handpresso and Hey Joe, the EspressGo uses convenient A Modo Mio coffee capsules which make for an easy cleanup. You can either wait in line at your favorite coffee shop or brew your own cup in the comfort of your vehicle. After seeing the video though, most will probably prefer to wait in line rather than brew coffee in a car.
The EspressGo plugs right into your car’s 12V socket and the unit itself should be able to fit into most cup holders. The unit comes with everything you need to make the perfect cup of coffee on the go. The entire setup comes with the EspressGo coffee machine, measuring cup for perfect water dosage and also used as drinking cup, box of 16 Appassionatamente coffee pods, and a storage bag to carry everything in.
For what it’s worth, the EspressGo was also the winner of the 2013 Coffee Innovation Award in Germany. If the company could somehow implement a mini milk frother, I would definitely be interested in the unit.
The idea of this sounds great but the reality is that people are in a rush to get to work and nobody has the patience to go through all the steps seen in the video. But the EspressGo is perfect for other occasions such as camping, road trips, and overnight stays at Rest Areas. The price might also turn you off at $199.99 via Amodomio or Handpresso.
