Vuzzle Chair Bloody Merry

A Puzzling Chair

Back in 2010 we wrote a post on the Meeting Knife which we called the puzzling knife, the Vuzzle chair by Korean designer Christopher Daniel reminds me of that knife and I’m calling it the Puzzling Chair.

The chair is inspired by a Voronoi diagram and is quite a unique take on a sitting device.  The chair is made out of 59 individual cushion pieces that have built in neodymium magnets to hold them together.  It’s like a big heavy puzzle that you get to sit on.  The chair’s resting place is a cube and by removing 13 of the cushions, it turns into a chair.  The extra cushions can be used as foot stools or small stools for sitting.  You can get creative with design and come up different configurations.  The Vuzzle Chairs come in three colors: Vuzzle Bloody Marry, Vuzzle Milk, and Vuzzle Neat.

The concepts behind modern design insinuate a departure from the conformity to aesthetics and construction. Abstract designs and exotic materials have often accentuated these specifications to your wallet’s content. Thankfully, minimalism has reigned and challenged designers to step into ‘out of the box’ thinking. With the Bulthaup b2 Kitchen Tool Cabinet, it appears they have embraced the box, much as every man happily does.

The Industrial Pipe Bookshelf: Plumbing The Depths of Creativity

Looking for a rugged and manly option for displaying all your guy paraphernalia? Normally we don’t recommend Etsy for anything but crochet, weird art, strange food, and a whole lot of crazy. (Though we can’t forget sexy women.) Don’t hit up Ikea- check out the Stella Bleu Designs Industrial Pipe bookshelf series instead: less work to put back together, roughly the same price range if you’re putting together a large modular unit, and infinitely better looking. Versatile, simplistic, and Mario approved for man caves everywhere. Each shelving unit is made of black, industrial iron

Road Trip Tips – One for The Road

Deciding to go on a road trip can be a very exciting event, especially if you have never been on such an adventure before. Recently I went on a road trip with a friend of mine and the experience got me thinking about the characteristics that one should look for when choosing the ideal traveling partner.

So what makes or breaks a road trip? Are you the type that likes your trip-partner to talk and keep you entertained, or do you swing more towards the comfortable silence listening to ‘Angel’ by Sarah McLaughlin sounding softly in the background? Is the answer so black and white? What if the ‘entertainment’ was being told what the best lane to use to avoid heavy traffic delays? Or even worse, being

The Phoenician Stone Quarry “Atlantis” – Ibiza

The Balearic Islands (and Ibiza in particular) are a long standing item on my travel to-do list. I’ve wanted to go there and party for years now, as by many accounts, Ibiza is one of the world’s top party locations. It’s got beautiful beaches, beautiful women, and an unending flow of delicious alcoholic beverages. What you may not know, is that Ibiza also has a rich history, and some interesting (and well hidden) historical sites to go with it.

Atlantis is a stone quarry that was carved out by the Phoenicians for use as building material on Dalt Vila, the old town of Ibiza. Though it bears the same name as the mythical undersea city of the same name, this

A View to a Kill – Urban Exploration of The Golden Gate Bridge

San Fransisco is one of my favorite places in the world. The city is fantastically rich with a wide range of cultures, nature is close at hand, the climate is great, and… they’ve got The Golden Gate Bridge.

For those of you that have visited San Fransisco (or live there), you probably know this already… the views from the bridge are absolutely stunning. If you have the chance, I highly recommend renting a bike and heading across it on a sunny day. Memories to last a lifetime, I’m telling you. But there’s another side of the bridge that most of us will
