Gadgets & Gear

I’ve always been interested in spending time in the great outdoors and one of my favorite parts of the outdoors is making campfires.  Most of us that go camping usually bring matches to start a fire, but what if the matches get wet?  You could try striking rocks against each other or rub sticks to start a fire, but that’s not as easy as it seems; if you’ve watched episodes of “Survivor” you’d know some of those guys can’t even start a fire with a flint.  A better option is to take the Sparxgear Fire Piston with you. You can easily start a fire with it and it’s waterproof.

I’ve never been on a Unicycle but I know for a fact that I would miserably fail and do a few face plants into the concrete while attempting it. Knowing how dangerous it would be for me, I never even bothered trying to get access to a standard unicycle.

But now that I know about a unicycle that requires minimal skills on my part, it would be pretty cool to test one out. The SBU V3 Self-Balancing Unicyle is perfect for those that lack coordination skills. The company which created this started with two guys working out of a garage and now they’ve got some pretty cool projects in the works.

It may appear to be a typical and inexpensive lighter from your local corner store but this bad boy packs an extra punch. The Discreet Pepper Spray Lighter has enough ‘sting’ to keep a douche bag or two at bay if they are unfortunate enough to be in the target area.

Although the effective range of this is probably nowhere near your standard pepper spray device, the lighter definitely has the compact factor on its side. The Discreet Pepper Spray Lighter can be yours for only $3.89. Now, it would be a real shame if you mix them up and accidentally light a smoke for some hot babe. Actually, it would be pretty amazing to see something like that unfold.

If you don’t know what it’s like to get pepper sprayed, consider yourself lucky. The guys in video below, not so lucky.

At Unfinished Man, we’re definitely not using the CEIVA Pro 80 Digital Connected Photo Frame to show cute pictures of our nieces. Nope, the moment I received the device, I immediately loaded four hundred of my favorite travel photos from South America, Central America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and yes – even good ol’ America.

As I sit here at my desk writing this review, I find myself distracted by memories of my sweet 20-something adventures. Memories of a

When cell phones first hit the consumer market way back in the day, they were big, ugly, and unreliable.  As time went by, they started to become smaller in size and came with more features, it was considered cool to have the smallest phone possible.  Then in the mid to late 2000’s, smartphones were introduced and we started going backwards with ever increasing phone sizes, some of the current smartphones are almost as big as tablets.  These large phones have been around for a few years and are going to see a trend of smaller phones again?  I don’t know but at least Samsung is offering a smaller version of their popular Galaxy S3 phone.
