It’s a week-long celebration in November that brings 5000 fans to 27 events, including the Grand Tasting Hall nights, where anyone can become their own personal connoisseur as they sip on the finest offerings from a selection of over 250 premium whisky, beers and spirits. With these amounts and type of liquor floating us Canadians, it’s no surprise that the welcoming and friendly environment brings random strangers together, taste masters and taste beginners alike. There’s even over a dozen master classes to choose from, where you get to sit down with some samples and enjoy some lively discussions. After the jump, I’ll tell you about my Johnnie Walker master class tasting.

With all great varieties of liquor to be tasted at the Hopscotch Vancouver whiskey festival, who would have thought there was something new to discover beyond whiskey. Just before my Johnnie Walker whiskey tasting class, I got the chance to learn about the tradition that goes behind the production of the Mexican liquor, mezcal. Like a classier artisan-crafted version of tequila, the methods behind mezcal production creates a taste combination similar to smoking a fine Cuban cigar while eating sweet aged jerky. Luckily for me, I was under the influence of Spirits of Mexico 2010 judging panel member and front runner to becoming Canada’s tequila ambassador, Eric Lorenz of Lorenz Agave Spirts.

This post is dedicated to all you bacon lovers.  In the past, we brought you two bacon infested recipes: the bacon-wrapped eggs and bacon-wrapped chicken, which are sure to please your palate. Today, we’ll show you a few examples of regular items which have been blessed with bacon. If you are impressed and willing to purchase at least a couple of the items below, it’s safe to say you are a bacon addict and may need help.

Bacon Scented Hand Soap

Wake up in the morning, take a shower, and clean up with bacon scented hand soap? That’s right! What an excellent way to start off the day and prepare  for breakfast.

Back in August, I wrote about a group of hardcore Taco Bell fans that pretty much dedicated their entire free time to a very important cause. The main goal of the movement was to bring back a discontinued item which according to Burrito experts is one of the best menu items Taco Bell has ever offered in its 49 year history. This menu item that I speak of is the ‘Beefy Crunch Burrito’.

Through the power of social media and consumer loyalty, Taco Bell fans have been able to achieve their goal. Taco Bell and 3 Million Fans have officially announced the return of the Beefy Crunch Burrito. Richard Axton, the brains behind the 3 Million Fans movement was invited to Taco Bell headquarters in Irvine, CA and told about the great news in person.
