Flying Hovercraft

The Flying Hovercraft

I’ve always been fascinated with hovercrafts, I don’t really know why?  Maybe because a hovercraft is a boat that flies/glides over water and land, and who doesn’t like a flying boat?  A normal hovercraft is cool but the “Flying Hovercraft”, shown here, not only glides over water and land; it actually takes flight like a plane.

The Flying Hovercraft does everything a regular hovercraft can do but it can also fly up to 50 feet above ground and reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour.  The flying hovercraft takes flight with the help of two lightweight integrated wings and is powered by a fuel-injected turbocharged twin-cylinder engine that produces 130 horsepower.  The flying boat can carry a payload of up to 600 pounds and has a range of 160 miles.

Ssang Yong Korando Sports Pickup Truck

I really can’t picture people in the UK driving trucks. When I think of that region, small cars usually come to mind. But South Korean manufacturer, SsangYong, is now selling their Korando Sports truck in the United Kingdom. The small pickup truck is priced between $29,250 and $34,000.

The small, four door pickup truck, features a short bed providing 22 square feet of loading area. The Korean car manufacturer is hoping to market the vehicle to the UK citizens who need a working vehicle, the practicality of a four-wheel drive, towing capacity of up to 2.3 tons, and also so as a family vehicle.

An Electrified Supercar – Mercedes Benz SLS AMG E-Cell

Following in the footsteps of the Porsche 918 Spyder, Mercedes-Benz have announced their own electric supercar called the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell.  The car is based on the gasoline powered SLS AMG and looks just as beautiful as that car.  If you’re lucky enough to own the electric version, you’d be able to sleep better at night knowing you blasted around on the autobahn at 200 mph without creating too much pollution (other than the tire smoke).

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell has 526 horsepower and 649 pound feet of torque and can reach zero to 60 miles per hour in four seconds and the engine can rev up to 12,000 rpm (numbers provided by Mercedes-Benz).  The car is powered by four engines, each engine powering a wheel and is placed low in the car for improved handling.  Electricity is stored in 324 cells in its lithium-polymer batteries which are placed in front of the firewall, in the center tunnel and behind the driver and passenger seats.
