As Occupy Wall Street continues, the emotions for everyone involved are running higher with each passing day. With the addition of veterans, solidarity statements from around the world, and other cities experiencing their own versions of the protest, we know this is a standoff that won’t end easily. Regardless of where you stand and how you feel about any of the participants and their actions, this incredible display is going to change the world we know. It’s one thing to see the thousands of amazing photographs of this important slice of history, but London artist Guy Denning has begun chronicling these world altering events in simple swirls of charcoal and conte. There’s a tremendous sense of emotion and movement in these incredible pieces, even though they appear hastily sketched on whatever was close at hand. Check a gallery of these dramatic works after the jump.

Yosemite National Park Timelapse in HD
Over the past several months, we’ve come across some pretty amazing time-lapse videos. Around the World in 5 Minutes is one of my favorites and I really enjoyed the production of the music. The ISS Earth time-lapse by Michael Konig also takes us around the world but we got to see it from the astronaut’s point of view.
Sheldon Neil and Colin Delhanty have collaborated to create a stunning time-lapse of Yosemite National Park in high-definition. All the time-lapses were shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and a variety of Canon L and Zeiss CP.2 lenses were used. The video, titled Project Yosemite, shows images of sunrises, sunsets, the bright night sky, and beautiful mountain views.
Still Life Photography of Rotting Food – Art is Gross and Awesome
There’s an awful lot of food waste in the world we don’t think about, and what better way to draw attention to it than to create …
Exploring Below the Streets – The NYC Underground
New York City has been around for a long time now, and like with any old city worth it’s salt, the place has its fair share of secrets and forgotten places. When people think of urban exploration, they often think of ruined and decaying buildings. That’s true of any place, but have you ever thought about what’s right below your feet?
In this beautiful collection of photographs by urban historian and photographer Steve Duncan, we’re granted a rare glimpse at New York’s extensive underground system of tunnels and
Pictures of a Dust Storm in Phoenix Arizona
A couple of years ago we posted a video that was shot during a mega dust storm in Africa, which was pretty awesome (click here to see it) and turned out to be a very popular post. Since the majority of our readers are North American, we thought we’d bring you pictures and video of a dust storm that’s a little closer to home.
These amazing (and eerie) pictures are from the major dust storm that took place in Phoenix, Arizona on the evening of July 5, 2012. Dust storms are a normal thing in Arizona but this one was so big that the local weather station called it a “100 year storm”. The storm had wind speeds of up to 50 miles per hour and brought visibility to near zero. The dust storm covered about 100 miles and the dust reached heights of 5,000 feet, almost a mile.
3D Projections on Trees – Clement Briend in Cambodia
I started learning French about 4 months ago after having moved to a French speaking city, and I finally, finally feel like I’m getting some good use out of the language. You see, Clement Briend – the artist responsible for these incredibly illuminating 3D projections – is French, and his entire website happens to be in French as well. What does that mean? Well, it means that I could now get the gist of what he wrote on his about page without using a translation service. Amazing!
Now, these photographs themselves require absolutely no translation. You don’t need to understand French to appreciate how incredibly awesome these projections are. Clement projected these graphics onto various trees around
Unbelievable Smudged Sky Photos by Matt Molloy – Under a Painted Sky
As a graphic designer I work with Photoshop daily, but I normally don’t really like to see an obvious overuse of the program when it comes …
