Brathwait Automatic Minimalist Wrist Watches

As much as I like extremely complicated watches by the likes of MB&F, Urwerk, and others, I also appreciate the beauty of a simple classic design. In fact, my first “real watch” was a Movado Museum piece, which I’ve owned for over a decade and I still love it.

Today I’d like to introduce you to a watchmaker called Brathwait, a watch company dedicated to producing elegant watches for the gentlemen, with affordable prices. According to the press release, the company is named after and the watches are dedicated to Richard Brathwait, “the world’s first gentleman” and the author of The English Gentleman.

The Brathwait Automatic Minimalist watch features the classic round case with a clean white dial featuring three hands and a date window at the three o’clock position. The watches come in rose gold on brown leather straps and silver with stainless steel mesh bracelet. The cases measure 40 mm wide and 9 mm thick, a perfect size for a classic looking watch. The dial is covered with AR coated sapphire crystal and the case back is signed by five of the world’s most experienced climbers and recognized Sherpas of Nepal. The watches are powered by Miyota 9015 automatic movements and are water resistant to 100 meters.

The Brathwait Automatic Minimalist watches are priced $265 for both the rose gold stainless steel mesh bracelet versions. Stay tuned, we’ll try to bring you an in-depth hands on review of these elegant watches. Via: brathwait.com
