Patek Philippe Mecca World Timer Watch

Luxury watchmaker Patek Philippe has just released a watch aimed at the Middle East market, called the Patek Philippe Mecca World Timer Watch.  The watch honors the holy city of Mecca and is released just in time for the holy pilgrimage of Hajj.

The dial of the watch has an emerald green center, the color of Islam found on many of the flags of Muslim countries.  The watch case is made out of platinum, which could be because Muslim men are not allowed to wear gold.

The watch face features the word “Mecca” in green and has other major cities from around the world in black.  The emerald green center dial has 12 platinum markers indicating the hours of the day and the outer part has 24-hour markers in Arabic numerals and also indicating the position of the sun and the moon.  The front and the back of the watch are covered with sapphire crystal.

Concept: Tokyoflash Sudoku Puzzle Watch

I got pretty excited when I first saw the concept Tokyoflash Sudoku Puzzle watch because I used to be obsessed with Sudoku puzzles and I love watches, but it was a huge let down when I saw the puzzles on the watch which are not really challenging.  The idea behind the watch is a game of Sudoku and if you want to know what time it is, you have to solve the puzzle.

At first glance the concept watch seems very complicated and you’d think you have to spend a bit of time solving the puzzle just to see what time it is.  The puzzle is actually quite simple and is only missing a few numbers and those missing numbers just happen to be the numbers that correspond to current time.  So if the time is 12:52:37, those numbers will be missing from the puzzle and you’d have put them in to tell what time it WAS (was because by the time you solve it, the time would have change by at least 30 seconds).  See picture below on how to tell time on the Sudoku puzzle watch.

Limited Edition Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer

2012 marks the 120th anniversary of watch production for the American watch maker Hamilton, the company was founded way back in 1892.  To mark this special occasion, the watch manufacturer will release a limited edition Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer watch which takes its design inspirations from the 1940’s marine chronometer watches that made Hamilton famous.

The Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer watch comes in a rather large 46.5 mm stainless steel case and it comes with a Hevea wood presentation box that double as a desktop clock, which is a pretty cool feature and could be the reason they made the watch a bit bigger.  The watch has a simple dial with Arabic numeral hour and minute markers and comes with two large blue hands.  The seconds are placed in a sub-dial between the 5 and 7 o’clock position with a small blue hand.  The watch face is covered in AR coated sapphire crystal and is attached to a light brown leather strap with stitching.

Tree House Village in Oregon – Ewok-Style

About a year ago we wrote a post on the very awesome tree house community of Finca Bellavista located in Costa Rica.  If taking a trip all the way down to Costa Rica is out of your budget, there is an alternative; Michael Grainer has built a small village of tree houses in Oregon, just like the Ewoks in the Star Wars movie.

Michael Grainer runs the tree house village as a bed and breakfast at very affordable prices; he also sells equipment needed to build tree houses.  Fair Companies took a trip to the tree house village showcasing some of some of the cool rooms you can stay in, in the video below.  The videos also showcase Grainer’s own house, which is, of course a tree house and according to him, is the world’s biggest tree house.  It measures 1,800 square feet and is supported by

Huet Brothers HB Coupe

Classic looks and modern technology, what else does one need in a car?  That’s the idea behind the Huet Brother HB Coupe, a car that’s currently in the development phase.  If this is the first time you’re hearing the Huet Brothers name, you’re not alone.  The company was started by two brothers, Paul and Tino Huet, from Holland.  Their company sells watches and makes cars; a few years ago they produced the HB Special, a roadster based on the Triumph TR6.

Logitech Touch M600 Mouse

I never thought I’d find a computer mouse sexy, but here we are and I say “this is one sexy mouse!” The mouse in question is the Logitech Touch M600 Touch; it’s like one of those fancy Apple mice without buttons that you see at Starbucks next to those fancy laptops. 😉

As cool looking as the M600 Touch mouse is, it’s nothing too special. It’s basically a trackpad (those things found on laptops) shaped like a mouse.  You swipe your finger across the surface to move the cursor and click it.  The Logitech Touch M600 mouse uses one AA battery that lasts for about 3 months and if you want to double that to 6 months, there is a slot for a second battery.

2013 Audi TT RS Plus

Although I didn’t like the original Audi TT, the second generation won me over with its not-so-quirky styling and a beautiful interior.  The TT is a good performing sports car but if you’re looking for an all-wheel drive sports car that’ll really put a smile on your face, the TT RS is the car for you.  Now Audi has released details on a new version of the sporty little car called the TT RS Plus.

The 2013 Audi TT RS Plus is powered by a 2.5 liter turbocharged 5-cylinder engine that produces 360 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels.  The TT RS Plus reaches the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark in
