We were hunters and foragers, the frontier was everywhere. We were bounded only by the earth, and the ocean, and the sky. The open road still softly calls. Our terraqueous globe is the madhouse of those hundred, thousand, millions of worlds. We who cannot even put our own planetary home in order, riven with rivalries and hatreds, are we to venture out into space? – Carl Sagan
I want to start by thanking Reid Gower for creating this video. If you haven’t already done so, go watch it. Reid has managed to create a video that I believe is both brilliant in its simplicity, and incredibly uplifting. Narrated by Carl Sagan, with music by Michael Marantz, and using footage from a slew of different sources, Reid has done something that NASA seems unable to do; present the wonder of technology and the universe in a way that’s meaningful to the average person.
