2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

Chevrolet recently unveiled the Camaro 1LE package, which didn’t see an increase in horsepower produced by the V6 or V8 engines, but did enhance the car’s track abilities. Now Chevrolet is introducing the new 2017 Camaro ZL1, for those looking for “MOAR POWER”!

Under the hood of the Camaro ZL1 is the 6.2 liter V8 engine from the Corvette Z06, producing 640 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, which is 10 less HP and pound-feet of torque than the Z06. However, it is 60 more HP and 84 more pound-feet of torque than the car it replaces. Power is sent to the rear wheels via either a 6-speed manual with rev matching or a 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters… and yes you read that correctly, a Ten-Speed automatic transmission!

The Camaro ZL1 not only sees an increase in power, it’s also 200 pounds lighter than its predecessor, it also features the Magnetic Ride suspension, performance traction management, and an electronic limited-slip differential.

The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 also gets an aggressive looking exterior package, with a somewhat Lexus-like large front grill, a chin spoiler, new hood with heat extractors, rocker panels, and a new rear spoiler. The car rides on 20” forged aluminum wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires.
