Romantic Gestures for your Girlfriend this Holiday Season

When it comes to understanding women, I’m just as clueless as any other guy out there. All I know is that when it’s Valentine’s Day, I’m supposed to bust out the chocolates and overpriced bouquet of roses. Or when they are upset, I’m supposed to be nice to them and something about being understanding. If you think Valentine’s Day is supposed to be their one special day for the year, think again. They also get a birthday, anniversary, and Christmas. Hallmark really has ruined it for guys. I personally don’t give a damn about any of those days for myself. If anything, I would request a birthday weekend away from her so I can hang out with my buddies. The holiday season is upon us once again and it’s time to figure out the gift ideas.

Chances are that a lot of you guys are probably scrambling around, trying to make a purchase that will please your lady friend. I cringe at the thought of shopping for a woman and if it was up to me, I would give them some cash and they can buy whatever the hell they wanted with that money. It’s so simple and efficient but people say it’s not very “thoughtful”. I would be very happy with a cash gift instead of receiving some crap I probably would never use.

Since there are so many expectations for guys during the various “special days” throughout the year, especially during the holiday season – I made a list of a few romantic gestures which might seem corny but will go a long way in helping you get laid on any given night. So besides that actual gifting process of the holiday season, put together a list of your favorite songs that both of you can enjoy.

Yeah, it’s a high school thing to do but it’s also kind of cute in a way. Some of those songs may be special to both of you can it might bring back some good memories of how you guys first met. Your mix-tape should have at least one Barry White song and you are guaranteed some action.

Classic Gift of Flowers

I may be against the whole flower giving idea but at the end of the day, if she’s happy, I’m happy. We already know that every woman appreciates flowers, and chances are you can find a local florist with a huge selection of bouquets that can be delivered right to your home. Nice and easy.

Cook a Meal

Okay, so she loves picnics but it’s a bit chilly for an outdoor meal during this time of the year. Next best thing is a delicious home cooked meal. Sometimes I get a little confused that couples will go out for Valentine’s dinner and spend over $200 or more just because it’s February 14th or some other “special day”. I would much rather stay at home and attempt to cook a meal for my lady not because I want to save money but to show that you’re willing to put in effort to make her happy. And if you suck at cooking, do it together and turn it into a date night. If it goes well, have more of these date nights throughout the year.

Visiting the Past

Whether you are a young couple or a more mature couple, we sometimes take each other for granted and forget about why or how we ended up together. To relight the fire in the relationship, do the activities that you used to do and visit the place where you first fell in love. It’s a romantic gesture and sure to bring back some great memories.

The Deal Closer: Chocolate

They say that women prefer chocolate over sex although I don’t know who “they” are. They may prefer the chocolate but you’ll get the sex so go ahead and let them indulge. And if you’re concerned about the calories you are feeding them, not to worry, those extra calories will be burned off if you play your cards right.

This was my quick list but there are plenty of other romantic gestures you could do during the holiday season or anytime of the year. If you do anything special for your lady, please do share.
