July 4th….Why not Have Friends Over for BBQ?

The Fourth of July is an exciting and patriotic holiday and you probably have plans for some awesome parties with friends. Because it’s the middle of summer, you’re likely going to get some great weather so it’s a perfect time of year for a barbeque or just generally being in the outdoors. These kinds of parties are great fun for everyone and can last well into the night (after all, with the sun setting later the fireworks won’t be until later!), but the downside of parties means you likely will have a lot of cleanup at the end.

Cleaning up after parties are never fun, even if the party itself was a blast. However, cleaning up doesn’t need to be as hard or as complicated as you think it might be. There are several ways you can make the party convenient for your guests but also for you after the fact.

Kitchen Organization
Ultimately, what this comes down to is having a good kitchen organization scheme. There are a couple of things you can do to ensure things go smoothly for your guests and yourself.

So what kinds of kitchen organization items should be in your arsenal of must-have party tools?

Kitchen Towel Rack
Having a kitchen towel rack is a great idea for your party and having one with suction cups is even better. You can attach it to any surface that’s convenient. If your party is inside, put one in the living room where people will gather. If it’s outdoors, attach one to the side of the house.

This kitchen towel rack means your guests won’t need to search around and touch stuff with dirty fingers just to find the paper towels. This will make cleaning up after so much easier because there will simply be less mess.

Small Trash Bag Holder
Going alongside the kitchen towel rack you can also have small trash bag holders. The beauty of this is it just hooks over the edge so it’s easy to put wherever you need it for your Fourth of July party. You can strategically place these trash bag holders around so people will be encouraged to throw away their trash rather than just leave it sitting around.

Having the trash bags attached to a holder also means they’re not going to fall over and spill on the ground when they because weighted unevenly, which will only lead to more cleanup.
Other great things to invest in are kitchen hooks. Really the key to a fantastic party, Fourth of July or not, is to make sure your kitchen organization is top notch. If everything is organized and planned well, there’s no reason you should be cleaning into the wee hours of the morning, nor should your guests notice anything awry. Let the Fourth of July be a holiday to remember for the right reasons.
