Jeep Wranglers Of The 2014 Easter Jeep Safari

For the past 12 years, Jeep and Mopar have come together to develop more than 40 different concept studies for the annual Easter Jeep Safari off-road event which takes place in Moab, Utah. We wrote about the 2012 Easter Jeep Safari and the vehicles they decide to work on changes every year. This year, we have three different Jeep Wranglers, two new Jeep Cherokees, and one Jeep Grand Cherokee. I’ll talk about the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee in another post.

Jeep Wrangler Level Red

The first on their list is the two-door Jeep Wrangler Level Red in Pitch Black with red accents. This particular model comes with a two-inch life kit, Dana 44 crate axles for both the front and the rear with a 4:10 ratio, 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires, a 3.6-liter V6 feature a six-speed manual transmission, an improved cold air intake and exhaust system, and Tuscany Katzkin leather seats with red stitching.

The Level Red Wrangler also features a TorRed prototype graphic stripe which runs along the top of hte hood near the bottom of the windshield and halfway down the body sides. The bumpers on this vehicle are borrowed from the Rubicon 10th Anniversary and under-bumper skid plate which provides better protection. Other mods include a Mopar half-door kit, a prototype Jeep Performance Parts tire carrier, hood prop kit, a locking gas cap, and Jeep Performance rock rails.

Jeep Wrangler MOJO

Next up on the list is the Jeep Wrangler MOJO where the “OJ” in the MOJO stands for orange Jeep. This MOJO is tailored towards the off-road enthusiasts who seek a tougher vehicle than the standard Wrangler and Level Red. Like the Level Red, the Wrangler MOJO will also feature a two-inch life kit and the Dana 44 front/rear axles and a 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case which will add to the MOJO’s rock-climbing abilities. The crawl ration on the Wrangler MOJO is 59:1 and will also feature a 3.6-liter V6 with a cold air intake and low restriction exhaust system.

This bright orange Jeep features the prototype Jeep Performance Parts “Shorty” bumpers and prototype flat-top fenders with 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires and rides on a prototype Beadlock wheels with Mopar Bronze accents around the ring on the wheel. Like the Level Red, this one also features under-bumper skid plate for additional protection as well as Jeep Performance Parts rock rails. The MOJO also features prototype LED headlights and fog lamps which should have no problem lighting up the dark desert at night. This model also has the front and rear prototype two-tone half-door kits and features a soft top.

On the inside, the Wrangler MOJO features a two-tone instrument panel and console which compliment the black Katzkin seat covers making it simple to clean. Rugged all-weather floor mats help shield the interior and features a Mopar lockable rear cargo tray, keeping valuables safe.

Jeep Wrangler Maximum Performance

Last but not least for the Wranglers is the Jeep Wrangler Maximum Performance which is catered to the hard-core enthusiasts who spend a lot of their time on off-road trails. The model features Jeep’s exclusive push-button electric-locking Dana 60 axles at the front and rear, along with 4.88 gearing and the 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case. The Wrangler Maximum Performance also features a four-inch life kit and boasts a 70:1 crawl ratio.

On the outside, the Wrangler Maximum Performance features the “Stringer” front bumper which works perfectly with the front bumper skid plate for the ultimate protection on rough trails. The Rubicon rock rails and prototype flattop fender kit is also available on this model. The vehicle also features a black grille and a modified prototype Jeep Performance Parts winch, a prototype LED lights bar mounted to the top of the vehicle, and a prototype graphics package. This Mopar Blue wrangler sits on the protogype eight-lug beadlock wheels feature the blue accents and the wheels are wrapped in 37-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires. Unlike the two previous models, this one features a hardtop and full steel doors. In the rear, you’ll find a prototype tire carrier along with a 37-inch spar tire cover.

On the inside, you’ll find HVAC bezels and steering wheel accents. You’ll also be greeted by the Katzkin leather seat with embroidered Jeep logo featuring blue accent stitching as well as the leather armrest. The instrument panel, shift knob, and HVAC controls are all enhanced with satin trim while the dash grab handles and steering wheel spokes are underscored in black trim.

In terms of looks, I’ll probably go with the Wrangler Maximum Performance but I’d be okay with the capabilities of the Wrangler MOJO. Oh and all those graphics are not my cup of tea. In my next writeup, I’ll feature the remaining three Cherokee and Grand Cherokee vehicles of the 2014 Easter Jeep Safari.
