The most hardcore street-legal version of the Porsche Cayman is the GT4, now the same car is available for the race track, with some improvements to make it even more competitive. Dubbed the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, the car is being presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The GT4 Clubsport is powered by the same 3.8 liter boxer 6-cylinder engine found on the regular GT4, producing the same 385 horsepower. However, unlike the street-legal GT4, which uses a 6-speed manual transmission, the GT4 Clubsport comes only with a dual-clutch transmission.
Since the GT4 Clubsport is a track weapon, all of the interior creature comforts have been stripped and thrown into the trash bin. The gutted interior features lots of bare metal, a single carbon fiber racing seat, a fire extinguisher, and a full roll cage. The removal of the interior amenities results in a dry weight of 2,866 pounds (1,300 kilograms), which is 100 pounds lighter than the regular Cayman GT4.
The Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport will available for $165,000 in the United States.
