Ladies and gentlemen, here’s the “most agile, radical, and powerful M4 ever”, those are the words BMW used to introduce the all-new M4 GTS, which is an even faster version of the already fast BMW M4 (formerly known as M3 Coupe).
The M4 GTS is powered by the same 3.0 liter turbocharged inline-6 engine powering the standard M4, but in the GTS guise, it produces 493 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque; which is an increase of 68 horsepower and 36 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via the 7-speed M double-clutch transmission. The M4 GTS has also been put on a diet, losing 176 pounds over the standard M4. The car uses CFRP on the hood, some other lightweight pieces, and loses the rear seat to achieve the weight loss.
With increased power and reduced weight, the M4 GTS sprints to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 190 mph. The track focused M4 GTS does a lap of the Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 28 seconds, which is about 30 seconds faster than the standard M4.
If you’re looking to purchase the M4 GTS, you better be quick to pull the trigger, BMW is producing only 700 units worldwide with 300 being allocated to the USA.
