Top Tips for a Cracking Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner, and with all the presents (hopefully) bought you can now begin to relax and prepare for this festive occasion. What makes Christmas so special is that it’s a chance to spend some much-needed quality time with your loved ones and relax after working hard all year. However, with the pressures of ensuring this occasion is special for the kids, a lot of parents forget to treat themselves on this festive day. Perhaps an obvious guide for some, this post highlights all the things you should consider to ensure that you also have a cracking Christmas Day!

Alcohol

Beer is something you drink all year round, so unless you are a keen beer drinker and will be trying out the latest ale choices, ditch the cans for something a little more celebratory! Whether you’re partial to a tumbler of whiskey, on the rocks, or a warming glass of full-bodied red wine, remember that Christmas is the time of year where you can splash a little extra on what you drink. Perhaps try out something new that you have never tried before to awaken your adventurous spirit. You never know, this may become your new drink of choice.

Treats

When the kids have retired to bed, and you’re sat enjoying the cold cuts of the Christmas dinner leftovers it may be time for some little extra treats. Why not invest in some classic Cuban cigars while you enjoy your beverage? Or some fancy chocolates for an after-dinner treat that are exclusively for the adults? Christmas is the time of year to indulge on all the spoils before the New Year sets in and you should make those all important new year resolutions (which often means cutting out all these irresistible things!).

Alone Time With Your Partner

As tempting as all the Christmas dinner and treats look, remember not to overdo it! As one of the most romantic time of the year it is always nice to spend the evening with your partner and you both don’t want to roll into bed like flapping seals or pass out on the sofa.

If you’re wanting to spoil your partner on Christmas Day, it may be worth getting them an extra little gift to open in the evening when you are both alone. Whether something kinky or sweet your partner will appreciate the little surprise! The smile this will bring to their face will probably be the fondest memory you have and you will, more than likely, be rewarded for your thoughtfulness.

Family Commitments

Sometimes all the family commitments can become too much, with the in-laws to visit as well as your own parents, it can often be highly stressful to go around to all the family in just one day. It can also be as equally as stressful to have them all round in one home, with not enough seating or room to accommodate everyone. So, why not have mini-Christmas Days in the run up to Christmas? This way you can enjoy a more private day with your partner and kids, with no added stresses, and not feel guilty about it!

Christmas attire

Don’t forget to invest in a Christmas jumper to get you in the festive mood. Remember to have a laugh with this; perhaps encourage the family to all sport an ugly sweater, either bought or made, and have a competition to crown the ‘Most ugly sweater of Christmas 2016’?! There really is a limited amount of times in the year that you can get away with dressing like a complete idiot! If this idea doesn’t sound like your sort of thing, why not encourage the family to dress up in their nicest wear for the Christmas dinner? Treat yourself to a new shirt or tie especially for the occasion.

With these little suggestions, the festive occasion is bound to be a more enjoyable day. Merry Christmas!
