Top Gear China

The original British Top Gear is the most popular “car show” on the planet; there have been other versions of the show, like Top Gear USA, Russia, Australia etc. Those “non-original” versions never really lived up to expectations, with the Australian version getting canned a year or two ago, and hopefully the American version will meet the same fate (if not already canceled).

But now there’s a new version of the show in the far East, catering to the world’s biggest car market of China. Top Gear China aired its first episode on November 13 on Dragon TV and we have the show’s introduction clip, of course, with the very recognizable and world-famous music we’ve come to expect from Top Gear.

For some reason the Chinese Top Gear looks quite fun, unlike the American version where the hosts looked quite timid, the Chinese presenters look just as goofy and carefree as their British counterparts. The shows looks to have quite a good budget with lots of exotic cars, crazy races, and home-made cars. Top Gear China is presented by TV presenter Cheng Lei, Taiwanese actor Richie Jen, and Olympic gold medalist Tian Liang.
