The Senz° XL Storm Umbrella – A Senz-ible Umbrella For A Rainy World

I found out about Senz° a few months ago after a bit of searching inspired by my hatred of regular umbrellas. I’ve owned many umbrellas over the years, and all of them have lost their lives to the local trash bin or street corner. I didn’t like the weight, the bland styling, and most of all I disliked how poorly most umbrellas are constructed. I live in Vancouver, a city blanketed by rain 60% of the year, and for me, having an umbrella that looks like trash only to fall apart as its final insult is simply unacceptable. I find items such as clothes, shoes, and even umbrellas an expression of self – if I’m going to be lugging something around, it had better look good. Also, I’m rather vain. It’s for these reasons that I was so excited to receive my Senz° XL Storm Umbrella in the mail.

The Senz° XL Storm Umbrella is an umbrella like no other; it’s well-built, has an ingenious and strikingly unique design, and doesn’t cost you a king’s ransom. At €59.95 from most online retailers, you too can own an umbrella that isn’t crap.

What I like About the Senz° XL Storm Umbrella

  • The shape of the umbrella is asymmetrical. Not only is this interesting to look at, but through brilliant engineering this allows the umbrella to withstand 100km/hour winds. Whether a person could withstand that wind is another question. Even while jumping from a height while holding the umbrella, I wasn’t able to get it to turn inside out.
  • The umbrella opens and closes smoothly and without fuss. To open the umbrella you need only pull the top section of the handle downwards towards the base, where it locks into place. To close it, a single press of a white button on the handle does the job.
  • The umbrella frame is both light and strong. The rigid frame appears durable enough to withstand a beating. You won’t find any cheap or flimsy components here.

This is generally where I write a brief explanation of what I dislike about a product, but in this case I can say with all sincerity that I have absolutely no complaints. Senz° has created an umbrella that has moved me from an absolute hated of umbrellas to a point where I can appreciate the fact that at least one company out there cares enough to make an umbrella that shares the same qualities that I do: strong, functional, and good-looking.

Senz XL Storm Umbrella In The RainI’m either looking wistfully into the looming fog, or debating whether I should jump off the cliff and glide down on my umbrella, Mary Poppins style. Either way, the unique design of the Senz° XL Storm Umbrella did an excellent job of protecting me from the elements.

Senz XL Storm Umbrella Being Held While JumpingAs you can see, the umbrella is easily able to withstand my massive weight as I glide down gracefully from the heavens.

Senz XL Storm Umbrella Sitting On A RockYou can buy the Senz° XL Storm Umbrella on the official Senz website for about €59.95.
