San Francisco based company, Bolt, takes retro bicycle/motorcycle styling and combines it with modern technology, giving the world the Bolt M-1 electric bike.
The Bolt M-1 looks like a hybrid between a bicycle and motorcycle, but the speeds it reaches tips the scales towards motorcycle. However, according to Bolt, you don’t need a license, so we’re thinking this is a fast bicycle, and since it does come with pedals, it definitely is a bicycle.
The M-1 is equipped with a quick release 33 volt, 300 Amp, 1.68 kWhr battery pack. Producing 1,000 watts in the “Economy” mode, which gets the bike moving at up to 20 mph with a range of 50 miles. The battery pack is also able to produce 5,500 watts in the “Sport” mode, helping it reach 40 mph with a range of 30 miles. The battery pack can be fully charged in 5 hours (maintenance mode) or 1.5 hours (fast charge).
The Bolt M-1 electric bicycle comes with a built-in pass code for security purposes and comes with a Bluetooth mobile app, USB charging for smart phones, and a regenerative braking system. The bicycle weighs 140 pounds and comes with headlights and taillights, a phone holder, and a small instrument cluster. The Bolt M-1 electric bicycle is priced at $5,495. [Buy It]
