Race Rain or Shine with Forza Motorsport 6

The Forza Motorsport franchise has a reputation for building some of the most immersive racing games around. I think, for me personally, it was the fact that the in-game car sounds were spot on. It really elevated the games above the rest of the competition. Hearing an actual Ferrari wind out, or a rotary scream is much more engaging than the vacuum-esque sound that so many other racing games use as a placeholder for real exhaust notes.

This year at E3 Forza Motorsport 6 was revealed. The trailer shows the usual host of expensive machinery racing around various iconic tracks. In that regard, there is nothing new to see here. This is a staple of the Froza brand.

However looking closely at the trailer, Turn 10 studios have implemented dynamic environments. The new additions to the game will allow you race through the night, or in the rain. While it might not seem like much, it should add another dimension to your racing experience. The fact that you might be able to spin out in the wet, while clawing for first is a welcome addition.

On top of the new environmental additions, the game is boasting 450 cars. This means you’ll be able to get up close and personal with quite a few of the worlds greatest pieces of machinery. It also retains the Drivatar system, as well as 24 player racing online. Both of which are good news for those who like to compete online. Personally speaking I can’t wait to play it. The game is slated for a September 15th release, and will be out exclusively for Xbox One.

So what do you think, is Forza Motorsport 6 offering enough new content for fans? Let us know in the comments!
