Quick & Easy Ways to Celebrate Your Wife’s Birthday

“Honey, what are we doing for my birthday next week?”

You panic.

You know it’s coming up, but you didn’t realize how quickly it’s approaching! Not to fear, we have some quick and easy ideas to do to celebrate the love of your life, even at the last minute. This isn’t a replacement for something truly spectacular for the woman that you vowed your heart and life to, but these are good supplements to that special gift or event you have planned too 😉

  1. Fresh flowers, candy and a card. This is one of the most traditional approaches out there, and if done well, can be a very thoughtful and memorable birthday experience. Consider getting fresh flowers more often than special occasions too, as everyday is special with your love, but especially on her birthday. Most grocery stores have nice fresh flowers, flower food, vases and everything you need to make a nice arrangement for her. Plus, fresh flowers add a bit of life to your home! Bonus points if you handmade the card.
  2. Take care of the kids, all day, while you schedule a massage and spa treatments for her to enjoy and relax. It wasn’t until recently that I became a parent and let me tell you, it’s not for the faint of heart. If she is the main caretaker, give her the day off, whatever that looks like for your family. Starting first thing in the morning until bedtime, let her be herself for a day. Give her wine, let her be silly and carefree.
  3. Give her funny birthday cards. You can get or make physical cards to leave around the house for her to find throughout the day, or schedule a series of funny ecards to send her every hour. Get creative and make it a message pieced together, or make it a theme of her favorite topic. Whatever you choose, make sure it’s special and thoughtful to her.
  4. Cook her favorite meal at home and have a romantic evening in. Anyone can take someone out to dinner, but it takes thought, planning, preparation, love and dedication to cook someone their favorite meal. Look online for recipes if you need, get all the best ingredients, and make it special to her. Also, clean up after, don’t let her lift a hand!

No matter what you plan for your wife’s birthday, make it special, and thoughtfully celebrate her. There are lots of presents you can buy, but as life and scientific data teach us, the experiences make the memories sweeter.
