Motorola Moto 360 Smart Watches

I recently wrote about the Cogito Original smart watch, a watch that looked like a traditional watch with built-in smart watch features.  If you like that watch, you’re going to love the Moto 360 smart watch by (Lenovo owned) Motorola.

Just a few days ago Google announced the Android Wear operating system for smart watches and other wearable tech.  Now we’re already starting to see the hardware that will make use of this new OS, this looks like a game changer and smart watches are really going to become relevant.

The Motorola Moto 360 smart watches are the best looking smart watches so far and I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on one, as long as they’re not too big.  Unlike the Cogito Original watches, the Moto 360 smart watches come with dials that are full touchscreens, like on smart phones.  The benefit of this is that when you’re not looking to do “social” stuff, the watch displays the hour, minutes, and seconds hands and the 12 indices for the hour markers, just like on a “real” watch.  And the beauty of using this system is that you can actually have different dial configurations on your watch.  And I’m sure you can change the dial colors and many other things.

When not using it as a watch, the Moto 360 lets you answer texts, look up weather conditions, look up directions, do Google searches, and much more.  This smart watch is really getting me excited!

The Motorola Moto 360 smart watches will be available in summer 2014; no word on prices yet but I’m guessing these watches will be priced around the $300 mark.  Via: Motorola
