A lot of our readers may be men but we also get our fair share of the ladies here on the site. And chances are, you probably have a special woman in your life and she deserves nothing but the best. If you guys have an anniversary coming up or her birthday is around the corner, listen up. In this day and age, we are bombarded by so much information on so many different types of products that it becomes a full time job to sift through it all to find the item that is right for you.
For me personally, I like to buy a combination of both cheaper and pricier items depending on what it will be used for. For example, I will not spend a ton of money on a designer bag but I am happy to spend a little extra when it comes to skincare. I am the type of gal that needs a good solid skin care routine as I have a few bad habits that take their toll giving me a dull looking complexion. A lot of people will tell you that all the products are pretty much the same and you can stick with the Drugstore brands but I beg to differ. Sure, some items may be very similar but not everything is created equal.
The La Prairie Difference – Under The Ice, Time Stands Still
I recently received the opportunity to try a luxury skincare line from La Prairie Switzerland. This is a high end company from Switzerland that sells skincare products. The product I tested is called Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Eye Cream. What makes La Prairie different from the rest? The secret lies with their Swiss Ice Crystal Complex, a combination of ingredients gathered from Alpine Survivalist plants which are well-known for their longevity to help protect your skin from environmental elements and the aging process.
These ingredients include Ginseng Root Extract, Glycoprotein, Horsetail extract and many other age-fighting ingredients. I have been using the ‘Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Eye Cream’ for about a month, upon waking after cleansing my face and also before bed after exfoliating. I have definitely seen noticeable improvements, some I noticed right away and others after a few weeks. When I applied the cream to my eye area I immediately saw a brightening effect on my otherwise dull looking dark eye circles. The texture is velvety and light. Within a few weeks the fine lines around my eyes were visibly reduced and I started noticing that I looked relaxed (even when I wasn’t) all the time. The feeling and look of puffiness reduced and I felt moisturized all the time.
In a nutshell…I really love this product! The only downside would be the price, cost of products from ‘La Prairie’ range from $250 to $1,300 depending on which collection you chose from. The Swiss eye cream will set you back $316. You also won’t find this product at regular drugstores; instead you would need to go up market stores like Holt Renfrew and Saks Fifth Avenue. Bottom line, yes it’s pricey but it’s worth every penny. More details are available over at the La Prairie Switzerland site along with all of their other wonderful skincare products.
