Majority of the readers here at Unfinished Man are probably big fans of movies where the theme revolves around cars. There are plenty of car movies out there from corny knock-offs to heart pumping, action packed car films. I’m an 80’s kid and my parents had me watch a lot of the Herbie movies as they were family friendly. But as I got older, options opened up.
Here is an interesting Inforgraphic, created by Jennings Motor Group, which shows Top 10 Car Movies Of All-Time and considered to be the most successful. The infographic includes a number of fun and insightful facts about the film as well as the cars.
Did You Know? A Few Fun Facts
– Gone in 60 Seconds (1973) used a total of 11 Mustang GT500s during the filming process. Eight of the vehicles were shell cars while the other three were fully working Mustangs.
– The Italian Job (1969) film used 16 Mini Coopers for filming.
– Esquire Magazine named Two-Lane Blacktop (1979) film of the year yet Universal Studio was not a fan of the film and actually refused to even promote it. Weird stuff.
Obviously it’s impossible to please everyone and many would consider the list incomplete. Don’t be sad though, one of my favorites, Vanishing Point, didn’t make it on the list either. Enjoy the Infographic by Jennings Motor Group below.

Thanks for this list, I’m going to watch them this weekend!
