Hamilton Khaki X-Patrol Watch

Hamilton has introduced the all-new Khaki X-Patrol watch for the man that travels the world.  The Hamilton Khaki X-Patrol comes with a feature that I’ve never seen on a watch before (I’m sure there are watches out there with this function), the watch comes with a mechanical scale between metric and imperial units.

The Hamilton Khaki X-Patrol watch can convert distance from miles to kilometers, feet to meters, gallons to liters, and pounds to kilograms.  This is quite a useful feature for those that travel between the USA and Canada and other countries that use the metric scale.  I don’t travel often but I occasionally have to convert metric to imperial scale when I’m writing posts for Unfinished Man.

The conversion takes place by unscrewing the crown at the 9 o’clock position, by rotating the crown an arrow on the outer disc on the dial can be positioned to the required value in metric units and the inner disc then has the corresponding units in imperial scale.  I can’t really picture exactly how this feature works without trying it out, a video showing the feature would be useful.

The Khaki X-Patrol comes in a 42mm stainless steel case with a choice of a black stitched leather strap, a black rubber strap, or a stainless steel bracelet.  The dial comes in either black or silver colors and is covered by an AR-coated sapphire crystal.  The dial has three sub-dials for the chronograph and the day/date window at the 3 o’clock position.  The watch is powered by an H21 automatic movement, which is an upgraded version of the ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic movement, with a 60 hour power reserve.

The Hamilton Khaki X-Patrol is available now and is priced at $1,695 USD.
