When the Lamborghini Veneno was first introduced, I was thinking to myself that this was the modern day batmobile. Now, another vehicle is up for consideration but maybe as the secondary batmobile when his main ride is in the shop. The 525hp Felino CB7 is what I’m referring to and comes from Canada – a country that is known for maple syrup, ice hockey, and beer.
The Felino CB7 is powered by a mighty 6.2-liter V8 producing 525hp and 489 lb ft of torque. Certainly not the most handsome of vehicles but will turn heads nonetheless. Although many would disagree, I actually like the view of the rear on the CB7. There’s something about that sad and droopy looking rear with its low taillights. And you may notice that the front of the vehicle is very Audi R8-like. The vehicle is the creation of Antoine Bessette who describes this sports car as “purpose built for the track” which could also be used as a street legal vehicle.
There are a lot of boutique automakers around who quickly design a vehicle, slap on some off-the-shelf parts, try to make a quick buck and call it a day. I’m not too certain if that’s the case here as the Felino CB7 took around four years to develop. The body is made up of composite and carbon fiber body panels making it a very light vehicle at only 2,502 pounds. The company claims the vehicle is capable of doing the zero to 60 dash in only 3.5 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 190 mph.
The power is transferred to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and braking power is provided by the 355mm disc-brakes and six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers at the back. The Felino CB7 is expected to have a starting price of $100,000 and it only goes up from there with various options. Overall, I like the vehicle and design but chances of it being a success or even being remembered are slim. It’s still a fun vehicle to look at.
Interesting design, though the rear of the vehicle is a blatant copy of the Morgan AeroMax.
