Fan Made Jaguar XKX Concept By Skyrill

The fan made Jaguar XKX Concept is the creation of Skyrill in collaboration with Marin Myftiu and has taken inspiration from the iconic Jaguar E-Type. Although this concept vehicle has no affiliation with the official company, this car is a true Jaguar at heart in many ways.

The aim of this concept vehicle is to revive the iconic design lines of the brand while integrating modern aerodynamics and new technologies such as an electric powerplant aimed at pushing both performance and power efficiency to a new level. The concept vehicle features microscopic layers of piezoelectric cells which help produce electricity caused by air friction (the air that actually flows over the surface of the car). The electricity that is produced is sent to the battery helping improve the efficiency of the vehicle.

Evolution of Jaguar E-Type

Another innovative feature on the vehicle is the tiny folding side view mirrors (1cm thick) which are aesthetically pleasing and fold in when the vehicle is turned off. To make the vehicle aerodynamic, you will notice that the front and rear of the car have rather large openings for air flow. The air is supposed to enter at the front of the car and flow behind the front wheels, then sliding along the doors and then entering past the rear wheels and out from the rear of the car. Since this design is only a rendering, not exactly sure if the air would flow as these guys intend it to.

Concept Jaguar E-Type

I like the overall design as a concept vehicle although I’m not a huge fan of the rear. The front and side profiles of the XKX are pretty sexy.  For all the pictures and details about this fan made concept vehicle, check out Skyrill and Marin Myftiu.
