Climbing Inspiration with Guillaume Raymond – Sierra, Nevada

Last week we kicked off a new series here that we’re calling…

CLIMBING INSPIRATION WITH GUILLAUME RAYMOND!

You don’t really need to shout it, but it just kind of feels right. Somehow more… powerful. The last post covered one of Guillaume’s favorite spots in Bishop, California, and this week we’re heading over to the Nevada to check out some “eggs”. If at this point you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking about, then you should definitely read the last one.

Enter Guillaume…

Sierra Mountains. Climbing in Sierra’s at its best! Mountain, snow, sand, rock and small plants. All of planet Earth wonders. Remember those eggs I talked about? Well here they are. Could they be better represented? Don’t think so… Those landscape are why I climb, why I train, sometimes twice a day and 6 days a week, and why I keep on climbing.

Are you not inspired?

If you haven’t tried rock climbing (especially Bouldering) yet, what are you waiting for? There’s a whole world of giant rocks to climb up and down, literally… no, I’m not kidding, Earth is kind of all about rocks. In fact, space is full of rocks too. When we finally settle Mars, well… I have a feeling the rock climbing skills you developed here on Earth will come in pretty damn handy!

Anyway….

As per usual, if you have any questions about this shot, or climbing in general, Guillaume would be happy to answer them for you in the comments below. If this seems like a bit of a hard sell, that’s because it is. I absolutely love climbing, and hope that I can drag at least a few of you into this amazing activity.

PS: Here’s a large version of the image…

Guillaume Raymond is a North Face athlete and is sponsored by Revolution, L’écurie, Project Holds, and Climbing Hold Review.
