A while back, I wrote about the Cliff House Concept which looks awesome but it’s still just a concept and unrealistic in terms of affordability for the majority of the people. The Skylodge Adventure Suites on the other hand is a real thing, affordable enough for many, and just as amazing. These breathtaking hanging bedrooms are located in the Sacred Valley of Cuzco, Peru.
The cliff side features three transparent hanging pods which measure in at 24’x8′ and includes four beds, a dining area, and even a toilet. It has a maximum capacity to accommodate up to eight people. Getting to the Skylodge is an adventure itself where partakers must climb 400 meters of “Via Ferrata” or hike a difficult trail using a series of ziplines.
Once at the Skylodge Adventure Suites, you will have a 300 degree view of the Sacred Valley thanks to the pods six windows. Each pod is hand crafted using aerospace aluminum and weather resistant polycarbonate. Packages start between $289 to $315 per person depending on whether you take the zipline, “Via Ferrata”, or both. That price also includes one night stay at the Skylodge which will get you a gourmet dinner with wine, breakfast, bilingual tour guides, and transportation from Cuzco. And let’s not forget the priceless views of the valley, mountains, and greenery.
The Skylodge is powered by solar panels which store energy in batteries. Each suite features four lamps and a reading light. Each hanging pod also features a private bathroom which is separated by an insulated wall. Although there are many windows for the optimum views of the valley, you still get plenty of privacy from your neighbors (the other two hanging pods) thanks to curtains.
That price is definitely worth it in my opinion for experiencing something that many will never get to try. It’s relaxing, scenic, but also an adrenaline rush the entire time until you are safely back on the ground.
