Breitling’s New Watch – Chronospace With Lots Of Features

Breitling Chronospace Steel Bracelet Black Dial

Breitling is re-launching their Chronospace line, original line was produced in 1998.  The new Chronospace watch is aimed at the professional aviator, but I’m sure a lot of non-aviators will be picking up this beauty.

The Chronospace comes with a 1/100th of a second chronograph, alarm, dual time zone with a separate alarm, countdown, 24 hour military time, a perpetual calendar and a slide rule.  The watch is powered by a quartz movement, which might not make it too popular with the hardcore watch collectors.

Breitling Chronospace will be available in a variety of dial colors and wristbands.  Wristbands will include a rubber strap for those who like to get their watches wet, a cool looking satin brushed woven steel (mesh looking) bracelet and the classic leather strap.

Breitling-Transocean-Chronograph-Watch

Retro Breitling Transocean Watches

Breitling is known for producing high quality Swiss made watches that are relatively affordable when compared with other high-end Swiss watches.  The one complaint I’ve had is their busy dials and that is not the case with Breitling’s new Transocean watch line.

The Breitling Transocean takes its design cues from vintage watches from the 1950’s and 1960’s with a domed crystal and round pushers.  The first thing you’ll notice is the lack of a rotating bezel, which is found on a majority of Breitling watches.  The watch face is relatively clutter free with the exception of a tachymeter on the outer part of the dial.  The watch face consists of three recessed sub-dials for the chronograph seconds, minutes and hours and baton-style hour markers.  Lume is placed on small dots behind the hour markers and in strips on the hour and minute hands.  The dial and the back are covered with sapphire crystal.

Roger Dubuis Excalibur Flying Tourbillon Chronograph

To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Geneva Seal, Roger Dubuis has produced a limited edition watch called the Excalibur Flying Tourbillon Chronograph single-pusher.  The watch marks a new era in the way the Geneva Seal is applied to watches (explained below) and is the first Roger Dubuis watch to comply with the new rules.

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur Flying Tourbillon Chronograph watch is produced in a very limited run of 8 pieces only.  The watch comes in a 45mm pink-gold case with brown leather strap and is powered by the new RD580 calibre movement.  The watch face features the power reserve indicator at the 12 o’clock position, a 45 minute chronograph counter at the three o’clock position, a window showing the platinum micro-rotor with the words “125 ANS” at the 6 o’clock position, and the flying tourbillon at the 9 o’clock position.

Qlocktwo watch with letter on the dial

QLOCKTWO W Watch

The QLOCKTWO W is quite an unusual watch, instead of using hour and minute hands; it uses letters to tell time and forces you to read.  The watch face is covered with 110 letters, which look like one of those word search games, that spell out the time when a button is pushed on the side of the watch.

The QLOCKTWO watch is manufactured by Biegert & Funk and is available with English and German words.  This funky watch comes in a black or brushed steel case and comes with a hefty price tag of €550 or about $720 and will be available in the fall of 2012.
