Swiss timepiece manufacturers Parmigiani Haute Horlogerie Authentique have created a clock that features a calendar based on a Hegirian calendar (the Islamic lunar calendar).  This is the world’s first mechanical clock with this feature; the calendar featured is a 30 year continuous lunar calendar.  The lunar year is 10 days shorter than the calendar we’re used and has 354 or 355 days in a year.

Time is money or so they say. So it’s kind of important that you are never late for all those important meetings at work and such. To be on time, I have to rely on my alarm clock but what I really find annoying about my standard alarm clock is that it is not very reliable when the power goes out. Okay, the power rarely goes out around this part of the world but it has screwed over some person out there at some point in time, I’m sure of it.

The solution to the problem that I’ve never had to deal with is the Water Powered Alarm Clock. What makes it unique is that it runs on water. This gets bonus points for being environmentally friendly but then again, a lot of the electricity is made thanks to water. Hmmmm

I’ve always thought that climbing mountains such as K2 or Mount Everest would be extremely cool but there are a few things keeping me from going there. Things such as mountain climbing skills, lack of interest in learning the trade, and I absolutely hate cold weather. Just the thought of it is very cool, but other than that, I’m just fine where I am.

But if I could climb “Mount Everest” in hot summer weather, I would be all for it. This is where the Inflatable Climbing Iceberg comes into play. This may not be exactly the same as the real thing but it’s good enough for me. The inflatable mountain is made of commercial grade 28oz PVC fabric and just happens to be material that is to be used in the summer time only and not meant for cold temperatures.

I was travelling through Europe recently, and by the time I got to Switzerland I realized that I had a real problem on my hands. When a person travels, inevitably they forget a thing or two, but what I had forgotten to bring was extremely important to the safety of both myself and everyone around me. What I had forgotten… was my nail clippers.

The Traxxas X0-1 is one of the fastest RC cars in the world and is the fastest out of the box RC car.  The X0-1 can hit a top speed of 100 mph, which is pretty damn fast especially for a remote control car that you don’t need to “hack” or mess around with.

According to the company, the X0-1 is not a toy car and is intended for experts only; it carries a risk of fire, injury, or worse, death!  Traxxas suggests using the car on a closed course, like a race track or a drag strip.  I can see the X0-1 taking out a few toes if you race it at full speed with people around, especially if you’re doing it in your living room.

I never thought I’d find a computer mouse sexy, but here we are and I say “this is one sexy mouse!” The mouse in question is the Logitech Touch M600 Touch; it’s like one of those fancy Apple mice without buttons that you see at Starbucks next to those fancy laptops. 😉

As cool looking as the M600 Touch mouse is, it’s nothing too special. It’s basically a trackpad (those things found on laptops) shaped like a mouse.  You swipe your finger across the surface to move the cursor and click it.  The Logitech Touch M600 mouse uses one AA battery that lasts for about 3 months and if you want to double that to 6 months, there is a slot for a second battery.
