Dark Canal in Amsterdam

Amsterdam Photography – Chris Yunker

Last year I had an opportunity to spend a few days in Amsterdam, and needless to say, it was a fantastic experience. The sights, the sounds, and of course… the plethora of amazing bars and restaurants made it well worth the lengthy flight from Canada. For those of you that haven’t yet had a chance to visit Amsterdam, I wanted to share some photographs that really capture the essence of the city. Unfortunately, I was having far too much fun to take photos of my own, and that’s where Chris Yunker comes in.

While browsing photos on Flickr, I stumbled onto Chris’ work and enjoyed it so much that I decided I would share it with you. It’s dim, it’s dark, and it

Barbeque Like A Man With The Kalamazoo K900

Kalamazoo K900 Hybrid Grill

Summer is less than a month away and what says summer better than a barbeque.  If you don’t already have a barbeque or are looking for a really awesome barbeque grill, then the Kalamazoo K900 is the grill for you.

The Kalamazoo K900 is probably the manliest barbeque grill I have ever seen.  The K900 is a hybrid grill (no, not like the Toyota Prius), it can cook with gas, charcoal or wood.  This is achieved by the slide out grill feature which lets users slide in and out the various drawers depending on what they’re in the mood for cooking with.

Daniel Weil Designed “Clock For An Architect”

Daniel-Weil-Clock-For-An-Architect

Daniel Weil is best known for dismantling and the reassembling of transistor radios back in the 1980’s.  I’d be lying if I said I knew who he was or what he did prior to today.  Daniel created a one-off clock as a gift for an architect dubbed the “Clock For An Architect”.

In typical modern architecture fashion, the clock is very minimalist and exposes all the components, making for a stunning visual piece that will be stared at for more than just finding out what time it is.  The “Architect Clock” can be called a work of art, at least in my eyes; I’ve never seen a clock so elegant and masculine at the same time.

Twitter pet animal Twimal reads tweets out loud

Japan, land of the Anime & Manga, the bullet train, ninjas, efficient cars, technology, rice, sushi, and crazy sex dolls has a new cute little invention for us. Well, sort of, as it’s only available in Japan for the time being.

The cute little gadget is called the Twimal by toy maker Takara Tomy and will be available for sale on March 31st. I know all the Twitter addicts in North America will be dying to get their hands on this one. The Twimal (short for Twitter Animal) is a ‘pet animal’ that will read your tweets for you. It is connected to your computer via a USB cable and is able to read the tweets, replies, tweets from other users, and up to three hash tags. There are two different Twimals to choose from each with a different voice.  This Twitter Animal currently only works with Windows OS. Check out the promotional video below (in Japanese).
