Superminis are fun cars that the majority of people own nowadays. They’re small, nippy, and perfect for city dwellers. These days, you’ll find so many superminis on the market, it can be hard to know which is best. Until today, where I’m about to tell you my top three:
Toyota Yaris
The Yaris has received so many plaudits lately and it’s easy to see why. This tiny car is highly popular amongst people living in busy cities. Busy cities mean crowded roads that are hard to manoeuvre. So, you need a small car that can work these roads, and slip into any tight spaces. The Yaris can do just that and much more. As well as a perfect city car, you also get a brilliantly economical engine. Toyota does a version of the Yaris that has a hybrid engine, and this makes all the difference. Now, you can cruise around the city, and not worry about C02 emissions of fuel economy. The hybrid engine works brilliantly and makes the car an eco-friendly machine. Sure, the hybrid versions costs a little more, but it’s totally worth it. Toyota have clearly produced the most eco-friendly supermini on my list.
Ford KA
When the Ford KA first burst onto the scene, it was a top-selling vehicle. Everyone loved it because it was super small, and still practical. Everywhere you looked there would be a KA on the roads. The strangest thing about the Ford Ka was its design; it looked different to everything else on the market. And, it didn’t change for numerous years. The problem for Ford was that other companies started creating better, prettier, superminis.
So, they responded by completely revamping the design of the car. Now, it looks like a mini Ford Fiesta and is incredible to drive. It’s perfect for making lots of short trips throughout the day. And, as it shows on the Hilton Garage site, you can pick one up for a very small amount. It’s arguably the most affordable car on this list, especially when you factor in all the great stuff it comes with. There’s loads of amazing Ford Tech inside, making it the most advanced car on this list too.
Mini
You can’t write a post on superminis without including a Mini! This was the car that kickstarted the supermini trend decades ago. Who remembers the classic Mini Cooper with its Union Jack decal on the roof? Minis are iconic, and also amazing to drive. If you’ve never driven one before, you may be surprised at how quick they are. When you’re driving a Mini, it’s easy to imagine yourself flying through tight streets in a high-speed race. It’s a car that makes driving fun. Even if you’re stuck in a city traffic jam, a Mini can make that experience enjoyable. It’s the priciest car on this list, but definitely the most exciting!
So, if you’re after a supermini to make your city driving a lot easier, these are your best bets. Remember what these cars are made for though, you won’t get a lot of joy on long motorway journeys!
