Dottling – The Skeleton Luxury Watch Safe

Like the Erwin Sattler Thesaurus watch desk, “The Skeleton” is for people that love watches as much as they love money.  The Skeleton watch safe is made by German luxury safe makers, Döttling, who built the world’s most expensive “Döttling Narcissus” safe designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

Döttling is also known for restoring historical safes, giving them a modern look and equipping them with modern technologies.  “The Skeleton” is also a restoration job done to a safe from Emperor Wilhelm II era, from about 120 years ago.  The safe is a one-off piece made for a wealthy US based client who wanted to showcase his expensive watch collection in high-style while still keeping it safe.  The safe, which has been converted to showcase watches, took 18 months to be restored and brought to its current glorious state, at a price of €250,000.

Kitchen Klass – Bacon-Wrapped Eggs

Orange Juice and a plate with eggs wrapped in baconHeck ya, another recipe with bacon! This one was just another random gem I found on youtube and well worth the effort. They’re like magical bacon-cheese-egg cupacakes that cure the common hangover. Well, not so much as cure as just making it less painful. They’re bacon-tastic!

Here’s the video that inspired this week’s recipe. It’s a slick vid with a wicked beat, which makes it impossible to watch only once.

STARTECH Land Rover Defender 90 Yachting Edition

The Land Rover Defender and Mercedes Gelandewagen (G-Class) are the epitome of true off-road vehicles.  The Land Rover Defender has been one of my favourite SUVs ever since I was young because of its utilitarian look and a go anywhere attitude, it isn’t as luxurious as the Gelandewagen but German tuners STARTECH (subsidiary of Brabus) took care of that with the Land Rover Defender 90 Yachting Edition, which will be showcased at the Essen Motor Show in Germany.

As the name would suggest, the Defender is based on luxury yachts, which can be seen on the luxurious interior that features premium navy blue leather on the seats and the dashboard with contrasting baseball style cross stitching on the sporty Recaro bucket seats for the driver and front passenger.  The headliner is covered with blue Alcantara and the floors feature yacht-styled luxurious wood panels.  There is enough luxury in this Defender that it could easily be mistaken for a Range Rover.

Much Much Go Custom Motorcycle – Based on a 1979 Honda CB250T

Honda-CB250T-Much-Much-Go

Much Much Go is a custom bike built by Australian industrial designer Nick Eterovic.  The bike was showcased at the inaugural “Boundless Enthusiasm Bike Build-Off”, and of course it won first place and also won Peoples’ Choice award at the show.

The Much Much Go is an extremely attractive custom motorcycle; I don’t know why I’m so drawn to it?  Maybe it is because of the simplicity of its design and the fact that it doesn’t look like all those “bigger is better” choppers that we see rough-looking guys riding around.  The bike used for the project is a 1979 Honda CB250T with a lot customization.

S.T. DuPont Samurai Prestige Set

They say the pen is mightier than the sword, but in the case of S.T. DuPont the pen, sword, and a lighter are mightier than my annual pay check.

The S.T. DuPont limited edition fountain pen, lighter, and samurai sword cost a whopping $66,000 for the set and is a tribute to samurai of feudal Japan.  In addition to the pen and lighter, the Samurai Prestige set includes a katana letter opener.  This is the perfect gift for the man that has everything, and of course, a few rich friends.

Accelerated Integration – BMW Vision ConnectedDrive Concept

BMWvision3With the debut of the BMW Vision ConnectedDrive Concept at the Geneva Auto Show in March, BMW is aiming at developing an advanced social network on one slick set of wheels.

The exterior boasts a design between a stealth fighter plane with its sharp angles and a classic roadster accompanied by a long bonnet and shortened windshield.

The roadster’s interior is accented in fibre optic lighting in what can only be described as an optical symphony. A three-dimensional Heads-Up Display fuses virtual content with the road for the driver that delivers up to the second data from environmental conditions, locations, and even mood.
