Retro Breitling Transocean Watches

Breitling is known for producing high quality Swiss made watches that are relatively affordable when compared with other high-end Swiss watches.  The one complaint I’ve had is their busy dials and that is not the case with Breitling’s new Transocean watch line.

The Breitling Transocean takes its design cues from vintage watches from the 1950’s and 1960’s with a domed crystal and round pushers.  The first thing you’ll notice is the lack of a rotating bezel, which is found on a majority of Breitling watches.  The watch face is relatively clutter free with the exception of a tachymeter on the outer part of the dial.  The watch face consists of three recessed sub-dials for the chronograph seconds, minutes and hours and baton-style hour markers.  Lume is placed on small dots behind the hour markers and in strips on the hour and minute hands.  The dial and the back are covered with sapphire crystal.

Best. Christmas Present. EVER. – The Star Wars Hoth Toy Collection

Hoth Box 1

Merry Christmas everyone! I’m hoping everyone is enjoying their presents as much as I am! To be honest, I’ve never really been a big fan of Christmas. But if there was ever a year to dissuade me, this year has got to be it. Being in my late 20’s, I wasn’t expecting much for gifts and my parents and I don’t exchange gifts…let’s just say because of one Christmas after too much…’holiday cheer’. So you can imagine much to my surprise when a coworker decided bust out one hell of a Christmas gift and get me the new Hasbro Star Wars AT-AT!

Of course, I couldn’t help myself. So when I was out shopping this last week, I just had to pick up some ‘additions’ to accent the huge ass Walker. So, let’s unbox these suckers!

Lamborghini Aventador – Automobile Magazine First Drive

Aventador5Internally code-named LB834 and dubbed the Aventador LP700-4, Lamborghini’s all new Murciélago successor has been causing a storm for dedicated auto enthusiasts and professional auto journalists alike. From spy shots to engine specs and a recently leaked ordering guide, the new supercar has already become the worst kept secret for 2011. In the latest news, Automobile Magazine sheds light on their clandestine night time test mule test drive, which reads like pornographic automotive literature.

Star Wars LEGO Hoth Photostream by Avanaut

LegoHoth022I’m not really sure how I found this amazing Flikr photostream by Avanaut featuring LEGO Star Wars Hoth figures (well kinda know if you’ve been following UM lately) but this is the most amazing miniture photography I’ve ever seen. Avanaut, a Finish illustrator and designer, uses a mix of trick photography and in-camera adjustments to produce the most stunning and vivid shots.

Shelby Cobra Replica: Factory Five MK4 Roadster

Factory-Five-MK4-Roadster

The iconic Shelby Cobra combined British styling with American muscle, the little roadster is one of the most famous cars in the world and if you were to ask any man to name their top 5 classic cars; 90% of the time the Cobra will be on that list.  Unfortunately for 99.9% of those men, they’ll never own a real Shelby Cobra, fortunately for them (and us), there is the Factory Five MK4 Roadster – Cobra replica.

Factory Five has been manufacturing Cobra replicas since 1995 and this latest version is the company’s fourth generation of the Cobra roadster replica.  The MK4 Roadster comes in two options; the basic kit ($12,900) requires a donor ’87 to ’93 model year Ford Mustang or the complete kit ($19,995).  The “complete kit” isn’t really complete as it still requires powertrain, paint, wheels and tires.  Still not a bad price, in my opinion, for a very sweet ride that’ll surely get you laid

Porsche 918 RSR Hybrid Race Car

Porsche 918 RSR Race Car Wallpaper e1294695240381

It seems like ages ago when I wrote my first article for Unfinished Man on the Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid concept car; yesterday at the Detroit Auto Show, Porsche unveiled the race version of that car.

Dubbed the Porsche 918 RSR, the car combines the design and technology from the 918 Spyder and Porsche’s 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car.  The end result is a sweet looking race car that has 767 combined horsepower; 562 of these horses are produced by the gasoline powered 6.2 liter V8 engines that revs up to an incredible 10,300 rpm- the sound of this engine should be orgasm inducing.  The gasoline engine powers the rear wheels while the front wheels each get a 75 kilowatt (102 hp) electric engine that is powered by a flywheel accumulator sitting where the passenger seat would be. It stores energy provided by braking, like the KERS system in Formula One.  When fully charged, the driver has access to the additional horsepower at the push of a button for eight seconds, kind of like a nice shot of Nitrous.
