5 ways to find your purpose

It’s easy to get sucked into life and into a job and a routine and just stay that way, even if it’s not what makes you truly happy. This is normal and it’s ok, but if you feel like you want more out of life then it may be time to start thinking about ways in which you can work towards finding your purpose, without giving up a steady job and income while you do it. This doesn’t have to be an impossible task and with these five ways you can make a life turnaround in no time.

Moonlight
It’s very normal for people to moonlight, but this can also be a great idea if you’re not sure what it is that you’d rather be doing. By moonlighting, you actually get to see what this job would be like and get some hands on experience, all without needing to give up your current job to find that out. This security makes it easier to make the decision than if you just quit your job and were hoping something would work out.

Make A List
This sounds boring, but sometimes lists can be the most useful thing in the world. Think of everything you like and enjoy doing, things that make a different to you, things that speak to you. Write it all down and work on a pro/con list for each aspect. Really think about each of these things and whatever speaks to you, try and get involved with it in one way or another to really find your true calling. Sometimes writing it all down can make it easier to process and think about.

Volunteer
Sometimes volunteering can make a world of difference. Perhaps you didn’t know you loved helping people or perhaps you’re thinking of a career change but want to explore this new career a little bit before taking the plunge. Volunteering can be a great way to do this, plus you get to help people in the process, which is always a big benefit.

Ask Yourself What Your 8 Year Old Self Would Think
As children, we actually have a much better idea of our true passions than any other time because we don’t think logically, we don’t think anything’s impossible, children just know what they want and aren’t afraid to say it. Think back to that time. What did you want? What would your 8-year-old self say about you now? Sometimes this can be a much-needed wakeup call.

Just Do It, Take Action
If something speaks to you and you think you’d love it or it’s something you’re interested in. Just do it! Don’t let fear or logic stop you. Living out your passions and dreams because you want to is how you find your true purpose and truly feel happy with your life. Don’t let anything stand in your way.

Finding your purpose isn’t the easiest thing, but these five ways are a great start to doing it and changing your life forever.
