5 Tips to Protect Your Wine

Drinking a good wine must be considered one of lives greatest pleasures, right? Well, there are a lot of people around the world who are missing out on this, or at least having a much worse experience, due to common mistakes that spoil the beverage.

First of all, you must avoid leaving it in the kitchen. The ever-changing smells and temperatures that cooking cause are very harmful for your wine. This also means to avoid leaving it outside or in the dining room. It must be kept in a dry, isolated room, preferably dedicated exclusively to wine.

Some bottles are not to be drank after two years. Many people have a hardwired belief that the longer you wait to drink a bottle, it will mean it’s better. However, if you drink white or pink wine after two years, it will begin to get constantly worse.

Don’t stir it too much. We’ve al seen the cool guys in the movies shaking their glass, smelling it and all of that, but if you shake it a lot, it can damage the whole smell-taste ratio. Three spins should do the trick and bring out all of its essence.

Accept advice! You don’t have to look super cool saying things you don’t understand about wine. Most sommeliers would be glad to help you understand everything you want about wine. For example in a restaurant, they’ll be more than happy to tell you which one goes better with your meal. That knowledge will help you in the future when you really have to talk about a bottle in front of a girl or your friends.

And finally…

DRINK IT! A lot of people just keep the bottles collecting dust and spiderwebs. This may look cool in your house, but you’re missing out on a great beverage and a great experience that should be shared with friends or family.
