3 awesome things to do in a desert

It may seem like the last place on earth where you would want to go to enjoy yourself but believe it or not there are some really cool and enjoyable ways to spend your time in the desert.

1) Ride a Quad Bike
Reserved for the more adventures among us, riding quad bike in the desert is exhilarating and extremely fun!. If you prefer a little more danger then why not head out at night. A night time ride means no scorching sun but make sure you dress warm, deserts, believe it or not, can be extremely cold at night. Do be careful though! I have known someone who broke their leg while riding the sand dunes of Egypt.

2) Set Up A Tent
Imagine yourself in an expansive desert in a tent sitting on plush cushions with a cold beverage while smoking a hookah. Add to this vision some delectable Arabic sweets and I’d say you are in for an authentic Arabian experience. Depending on your location this could get a bit pricey so cut costs by doing this with a group of friends. Now who said the Who said that the desert was a boring place?.

3) Sand Surfing
Yes, you read that correctly! Sand surfing is exactly like water surfing, but on sand!. You can hire a sand surfing instructor to get you started and teach you the basics. As with everything else, practice makes perfect. Sand surfing is done using a sand/snow board. Quick tip: Rubbing wax on the bottom of the board will give you a smoother ride!. The only downside is there are no chair lift so you need to walk up the sand dune after every ride. doubles as exercise?

Whether you have a desert next door or are on a vacation, don’t miss out on the enjoyment to be had in the beautiful deserts all over the world.
