2014 Porsche 911 Turbo & Turbo S Cabriolet

Porsche has been revamping their entire car lineup for the last couple of years; their most recent introduction was the all-new 911 Turbo and Turbo S; so the next natural step was to introduce us to the all-new Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S Cabriolets (codenamed 991).  These drop-tops will be officially showcased at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year.

There aren’t any differences between the coupe and cabriolet versions of these cars, except, of course, the fixed roofs are replaced with cloth-tops.  The cabriolets are powered by the same turbocharged 3.8 liter flat-six engines as found in the coupes.  In the 911 Turbo Cabriolets, the engine produces 520 horsepower with a 0 – 60 mph time of 3.3 seconds (0.1 second slower than the coupe).  In the Turbo S Cabriolet, the power output is increased to 560 HP, with a 0 – 60 mph time of 3.1 seconds (0.2 seconds slower than the coupe).  Both convertibles have a top speed of 195 mph, 3 mph slower than the coupes.

Both the 911 Turbo and Turbo S convertibles cost a bit more than the coupes, the price one must pay for open-top motoring.  The 911 Turbo Cabriolet has starting price of $160,700 and the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet starts at $193,900.  These prices can go a lot higher in a hurry with numerous options offered by Porsche.  Via: Porsche
