2014 Porsche 911 Turbo & Turbo S

We’ve been covering the 9th generation Porsche 911 (codenamed 991) quite extensively; ever since the first 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera was introduced in 2011.  Now, finally, we get our first official look at the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S.  Was the wait worth it?  Read on and you can decide for yourself.

Like previous generation 911 Turbos, the 2014 911 Turbo is powered by an engine that’s placed behind the rear axle.  The engine is a 3.8 liter turbocharged 6-cylinder boxer engine that produces an impressive 520 horsepower!  Not enough power? Then you should opt for the Porsche 911 Turbo S, which comes with 560 horsepower.  The standard Turbo does the 0 – 60 mph sprint in 3.2 seconds with a tops speed of 196 mph and the Turbo S does the 0 – 60 mph in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 198 mph.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, unfortunately, there is no manual offered (at least for now).  The all-wheel-drive system is new and also comes with rear wheel steering.  The new 911 Turbo also comes with engine start/stop technology, to keep the tree huggers happy.

I like big butts and I can not lie…

I’ve already been a big fan of the 991 generation of Porsches and the new 911 Turbo looks just as sexy as the Carrera’s, if not more.  I especially like the really wide rear fenders, very seductive; the rear fenders are 1.1” wider than the Carrera 4S’s.  The cars also come with active front and rear spoilers with 3-stage settings.  The cars ride on super wide 20” wheels, giving the car a very sport look.  Verdict: I love it!!

The interior on the 911 Turbo is in line with the rest of the 911 family, which is inspired by the luxurious interior of the Panamera.

With added power, new features, and a luxurious interior, the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo has a higher starting price of $149,250 and the 911 Turbo S starts at $182,050 in the U.S.  Still not too bad for a car that performs like a supercar and can be used as a daily driver. Via: Porsche
