Trident Iceni Magna: A V8 Diesel Sports Car

When I think of diesel engines, I don’t think sports cars. In most cases, diesel engines are found in trucks or cars that are fuel efficient. But then again, Audi has been kicking ass at the 24 Hours of LeMans races with turbo-diesel engine cars, maybe they know something?

Trident is another company that knows a thing or two about diesel-powered cars, and their latest sports car is the Iceni Magna, powered by a diesel V8 engine.

The Iceni Magna is a sports car on the outside, but it’s a GM truck on the inside; powered by a GM truck division sourced 6.6 liter V8 turbocharged diesel engine, which produces 395 horsepower and a massive 700 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, which helps it reach 60 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of over 190 mph… oh, and it can cover 2,000 miles on a single tank of diesel or bio-diesel.

Looks-wise, the Trident Iceni Magna looks like a combination of a Jaguar, a TVR, and Kim Kardashian’s big butt. It sure is different, I kind of like it… “I like big butts and I cannot lie…” the design is sporty and will definitely get you noticed. I wonder what the diesel V8 sounds like.

I have no idea what the interior look like, according to Trident; the car comes with the standard power windows, A/C, leather seats, Bluetooth etc.

No word on pricing yet. Via: Trident
